Our Gear Up Check Valve was engineered and designed to fit and function in Prestolite HYC5000 series powerpacks. This valve locks pressure with a proven hydraulic method. It costs just a fraction of what repair facilities are charging to fix the same issue.
If your landing gear are trying to drop down during flight and your Prestolite pump is continuously cycling to keep the gear in the wheel wells, odds are your GUCV is leaking. There is no repairing the Prestolite valves. They haven't made new valves in decades, that means you're getting decades old GUCV's put in your powerpack. The rubber has already started to dry-rot prior to it being installed in your pump. Think of it as new OLD OLD stock.
Our Gear Up Check Valve was designed and manufactured by an engineer. He is also an A&P and has worked on aircraft for over 40 years to include US military aircraft. In addition, he holds a commercial instrument rating in Multi Engine fixed wing and Turbine Helicopters. He was a US Army Maintenance Officer and attended the US Army Test pilot school in Ft. Eustis VA. More importantly, he has dealt with Prestolite pump failures and understood there needed to be an affordable alternative solution.
Our valve is easy to install and comes with instructions so you don't have to pay FAA repair facilities thousands of dollars to do what you will be able to do in a few minutes. If you have any issues with our valve, just take it out, clean it with some brake cleaner to remove any debris that may be caught between the valve plunger and seat, then put it back in! You're not going to do that with a Prestolite valve, you have to send the pump in for a 3500+ dollar overhaul.
This valve is being sold as a "COMPARISON TEST VALVE" to be used in determining if your valve was good or bad. It will out-perform the Prestolite valve. However, it's not TSO'ed, PMA'ed or STC'ed.
